THE MAKING OF POWDERMAN
THE MAKING OF POWDERMAN
Concept
These rough sketches show the original concepts of what we wanted Powderman to look like. You can see influences from Otomo Katsuhiro's Steam Boy in one of the drawings, a result more of trying to find the right pose than of style. The challenge was making Powderman fun and interesting to look at without being too cute or childish.

interface concept
the final drawings were then sent to a 3D animator and developed into a wireframe model (a,b). Later the skin was added and lighting was placed (c, d). The final phase was adding bones (b) to the joints of the model so that we could animate or position the model any way that we wanted.
a) wireframe with transparent outer skin
b) wireframe of front and side view
c) high res rendering of head
d) high res rendering of two poses
