BRAVO !

On 10/28 the artist and fashion designer Yoko Tokitoh hosted the exhibition "Bravo!", consisting of her Hat and Mask designs. The exhibition took place at bar e“lis located in Mishuku, Tokyo. It was a unique event, while sitting at the bar you could appreciate the models standing outside gently showing off Tokitoh's carefully hand-crafted hats and masks. VJ BAM aka HMC's Yuji Iwashita provided the visuals for the event, creating a mild ambience with shots taken from the show mixed real-time with his original takes. Models, hats, masks, and good soft music - everything was combined in a harmonious fashion.

The hats and masks were inspired by flowers and animals and to emphasize the artist's creation the models wore beautiful long white gowns. The master of the bar came up with the brilliant idea of having the viewers inside while the models improvised casual interactions on the sidewalk outside. The main concept from the designer was "Let's put on our hats and be lovely!" and for a moment of our crowded everyday lives we were cast into a wonderfully soft world that you couldn't pry your eyes away from even for a second.

The party ran late into the night with people still buzzing from the success of the show. It is always great to see these kinds of events in Tokyo.
