CHUO UNIVERSITY'S GOOGLE SEARCH 2005.09.21

University's often use Google to power their website's internal search engine. While Google offers a great service with very accurate search results for University's, the page layout often loses the features of the University's design and takes on the look and feel of Google's own homepage.

By exploring the different options available through Google we were able to build a page that utilized Google's search engine power while maintaining the original design elements of the University's website.

Using Google's Public Service Search (for educational institutions and non-profit organizations), we could customize the header, the footer, the global menu, the side menu, the link color, the font size and even the margins. It was as easy as setting out the layout of any other page in the website.

When making use of such smart and convenient services you must always try and maintain cohesiveness with the original design.
