CASE STUDY 005 CSS x CONTRIBUTE 3.0 2005.10.13
In making websites based on the W3C standards, we are prone to stick to its rules, but that doesn't mean that we lose the possibility to improve the usability and the accessibility of websites. As web browsers evolve, the adoption of XHTM and CSS is becoming more and more common.
There is no "right answer" for the best layout technique. Depending on the browser you use, the interpretation of CSS code can vary, causing unexpected results and thus, forcing us to do a number of corrections and fixes. In some cases the use of tables are better. You could say that right now we are in a transitional period.
Using the strengths of both CSS and tables we are able to efficiently deliver websites that have better accessibility and usability while still making it easier to update and maintain.
We can use CSS to control the look and feel of the website, making it easy to substitute menus, to edit text margins, link icons, tables, etc... and if the client is using Macromedia Contribute, he can directly update his website with very little hassle.
At HMC we don't rely solely on new technology to create answers, we care to know about our clients' needs and we put a great effort to give them the best solution possible.
